And the good news is that this method works even if you do not like to be on camera for your reels.

Read on…

Step 1: Choose subjects from your content buckets!

Many people who're new to reels don't even realize that they need to do this step before relating to their audience more quickly. And that's why many people who try to go viral with trending reels end up failing – they're simply missing this crucial step.

So, the first thing you need to do is choose topics for your reels that your audience is used to seeing from you, topics they expect from you.

You'll find that this part of the process goes much more smoothly when you talk about

Once you've decided what to create your reel about, depending on your content buckets, then you can move on to the next step…

Step 2: Decide what type of reel you are going to do.

The next thing you need to do is decide what type of reel video you will do; lip-dub, skit, faceless, screen-record, talking to the camera, or collaboration?

No matter what type of reel you choose, here are tips to improve your reels:

  1. Start with a clear and visible "hook" on your video. Both your cover page and the first part of your video should have the "hook." You want people to be interested in what your video is about before it even begins.

  2. Keep your video interesting by changing scenes, doing transitions, or adding movement/action to your videos.

  3. Use trending music in the background of your reels. If you are not doing a lip-dub with original audio, always have a trending song on the video; this helps with reach. If you are speaking during your reel, turn the volume down on the music to between 2-6 so that it is barely audible and does not distract from your message.

  4. Always caption your reels. Not everyone is going to listen to your reels with the sound on. Either use the caption sticker or manually type out your captions for your reels.

  5. Provide a CTA at the end of your reel video. Either invite your viewer to "read the caption" or "follow for more"; keep your CTA short and sweet since it needs to be quick to read. Never assume people will read your caption after watching your great video; most often, they will not.

Step 3: Be consistent with reels.

At this point in your Instagram journey, you may have heard the term "consistency is key." The reason is that both people and the Instagram algorithms depend on consistent patterns.

The more consistent you create your reels on certain days of the week or every other day, the more you will see improved and consistent results from your reel's videos.

And there you have it – the secrets for increased reels play. Now that you know how dominate reels, there's just one thing left for you to do: take action.

So get to it, and soon you too will see better reach from your reels!
